Professor Robert D Mitchell BDS., MDS., FRACDS(OMS)., FADI

Professor Mitchell has been a registered oral and maxillofacial surgeon since 1986. He has undergraduate and post graduate degrees from The University of Sydney and a Fellowship in Oral and Maxillfacial Surgery. He specializes in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery including wisdom teeth removal, and the more advanced surgical procedures to correct jaw deformities, temporomandibular joint disorders, facial bone fractures, nerve injury, bone grafting and jaw cysts and tumours.

Professor Mitchell is a past President of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society of New South Wales, and has lectured extensively to undergraduate and post graduate students as well as being an invited lecturer at many conferences and seminars.

Professor Mitchell is also an international weightlifting coach and is a past President of the Australian Weightlifting Federation. He is also appointed as a specialist medical practitioner for the Australian Rugby Union.

Dr Ying Shi Chang BDS, GradDipClinDent (Surgical Dentistry) (USYD), DClinDent Oral Surgery (USYD), MRACDS
Dr Ying Shi Chang is a board registered Specialist Oral Surgeon, having obtained her
specialist qualifications from the University of Sydney. Dr Chang is committed to and is passionate about teaching and equity of care. For the past 12 years she has been involved in the Oral Surgery teaching programmes at both Charles Sturt University and the University of Sydney. She currently holds the position of Lecturer in Oral Surgery at the University of Sydney (School of Dentistry) and is involved in the education and training of both graduate and post-graduate students.
Dr Chang holds the positions of Staff Specialist (Oral Surgery), Sydney Local Health District
and Visiting Dental Officer (Oral Surgery) at Nepean Centre for Oral Health, Nepean Blue
Mountains Local Health District. She has had a range of experience, having previously
held positions at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health, Orange Base Hospital, Dubbo Oral
Health Clinic, Royal North Shore Hospital, and Charles Sturt University Clinics. 
Dr Chang is passionate about patient-centric care, treating every person according to their
individual needs with respect and compassion. She believes in and is committed
to open communication and collaboration with patients, their carers, and other health
practitioners (general dentists, medical doctors and both medical as well as dental
specialists) to provide personalised evidence-based care to her patients. 
Dr Chang practices the full scope of Oral Surgery with a particular interest in:
Wisdom teeth removal, Extraction of teeth, Orthodontic exposure and bond, Oral pathology and oral medicine, Oro-antral communication and Oro-antral fistula, Dental implants, ridge augmentation and bone grafting, Pre-prosthetic surgery, Dentoalveolar trauma

Pamela Fox - Practice Manager

Pam has been with the Practice since 2015 and as Manager she ensures its smooth running. She is responsible for all administrative matters, but also looks after our patients needs when they make appointments and book into hospital for surgery. Pam also has a very in depth knowledge of Medicare and the private health funds so she can assist you with your enquiries in this regard. 

Ingrid Seneviratne - Receptionist

Ingrid has worked in the Practice since 2000 and prior to this she worked for Professor John Norman (Professor Mitchell's predecessor) for many years. She is very experienced with all matters related to hospital bookings and reception duties and is the person responsible for letting our patients know about their hospital admission details.  

Samantha Mitchell - Practice Nurse & Receptionist

Sam is a fully qualified Registered Nurse and has extensive experience in the operating theatres of many of Sydney's leading private hospitals. She has worked in the Practice since 2013 and fully understands the needs of our patients as they prepare for surgery and will assist you in making sure your hospital experience is as pleasant as possible. Sam will also contact you after surgery and check on your recovery. She also carries out reception and hospital booking duties 

Jan Dannevig - Receptionist and Medical Typist

Jan is responsible for all the medical typing duties and ensures the letters which go back to our referring doctors are accurately and quickly done. She has worked for Professor Mitchell since 2010, and also assists with reception duties and patient bookings.
